KYOCERA DR-350 (Yashica KC 600) - 1997.  This camera is an example of why folks can become hooked on collecting - SERENDIPITY.  Many of these cameras were sold worldwide as the Yashica KC-600, but only a few were sold in Japan as the Kyocera DR-350.  The DR-350  is very rare on U.S. eBay and when it does appear it's usually just the camera by itself in obviously worn condition.  While doing a google search for information on the DR-350, we clicked on google images and one of the photos that appeared was of a DR-350 currently for sale on a Japanese only auction site.  Since we had no access to that site, we contacted my wife's nephew, Joe, who lives in Singapore.  By great good luck, he has a friend, Atsuo, who lives in Japan.  Atsuo was able to obtain the DR-350 from the auction site and we now have it in our collection.  But our good luck did not end there.  Much to our amazement, this rare 1997 camera arrived brand new in its original box with all of its original contents.  As such, it is quite possibly the only new-in-the-box sample still in existence.  Many thanks to Joe and Atsuo for making an old man very happy. 1/3-inch 640 x 480 pixel CCD.  ISO 100.  F/4 47mm fixed-focus lens.  Shutter 1/8 to 1/1000 second.   We believe we were the first digital camera history web site to provide a photo and information concerning this camera.
